with love from Philadelphia

Hello Redhot!

I'm home in Philly, enjoying my summer and missing all of you terribly...and I finally got a job!! For those of you who were unaware of my quasi-saga (which involved almost accepting an unpaid job out of sheer panic), it's been a struggle. But no more worries, because I finally have something to fill my summer days besides Rush and 30 Rock (although that would probably be a very enjoyable summer, except for the fact that my parents would kill me for never leaving the couch). I'm interning in a neuropsychology lab, where I'll be working on some psycholinguistics projects/experiments that focus on ambiguity in homonyms and pronouns. Let me tell you, it's great to have an outlet for all of my excess linguistics-related energy. What can I say, I love linguistics.

Besides my internship, I'll be working some odd jobs, babysitting, etc. The boy that I'm picking up from camp for the next two weeks had me play basketball with him today for like TWO HOURS. I am pathetically un-athletic. Anyway, off to make dinner with the family. Now that my sisters and I are all in college, my parents have forgotten how to buy food for 5 people...there never seems to be enough to eat in the house. But there is a Japanese food market near my house, so maybe I'll show up to retreat with some of the delicious snacks we discovered on tour...

Peace, love, and Redhot
